Senior Life

Getting Started: Transitions

Hello everyone my name is Marilyn. I have never blogged before or twittered much, mostly because I really didn’t have anything to say that I thought others may be interested in or would contribute in any way to others lives. That is about to change as my husband, Bob and I prepare to have his aging parents move in with us. Many seniors are facing the same fate in these times. Although challenges abound, it can be a time of joy as families are able to bond and spend quality time with each other while facing many of the frustrations and difficulties of senior life.

I asked Mom if she would be interested in blogging with me to share our journey together with others who may be in a similar situation and she agreed. So this blog will be about our experiences together. I will tell it from my side and my mother in law, Ginny, will share her thoughts and insights from her side. As our story unfolds, I am sure you will get to know our whole family as we share our lives. Larry, my father in law has led a remarkable life and has lots of stories from his days as a teacher, athletic director and track coach from eastern Long Island. We will ask him to join in when the moods strikes. He is a great cook with a flare for seafood, so we may even share a few cooking tips as well.

Family Tree

As we get to know each other and our family, it may be useful to see our family tree. We will ask members of our family to contribute to our story.
